YOU'RE FIRED: Mark Bouris sacks Yellow Brick Road staff

CELEBRITY apprentice host Mark Bouris is telling people they're fired - in real life.

In a statement lodged with the ASX Bouris' company Yellow Brick Road Holdings announced the wealth management firm would be reducing the number of people it employs and the transition will mean letting go of some of the business's top people.

The cuts come as the business gets rid of its branches in favour of franchising them out.

"Moving to a franchise model is an important progression in our operations," Mr Bouris said.

"The old licence structure served us well but is not adequately responsive or commercial to meet the future challenges and opportunities for a retail oriented businesses like ours."

And Bouris himself says the company will now move to release new technology while the remaining staff will be asked to become more productive.

"In line with the reduction of a number of high cost senior management roles and other various management layers in the whole group, I have asked the remaining senior managers to adopt what I call a 'step in' mindset so they will ne stepping into the roles that have been eliminated and this will be done starting with me as Executive Chairman," Bouris said.
