UPDATE, Tuesday 12.30pm:

HANNAH Jane Quant who was arrested yesterday after police found over $50,000 worth (60g) of methamphetamine in her car, has been allowed to live in Brisbane but must attend drug rehabilitation.

Brisbane barrister Andrew Godbolt made a successfull application before Gladstone magistrate Penelope Hay for 24-year-old Quant to be granted bail.

Strict conditions have been placed on Quant  including regular reporting to police, she must live with her sister, attend drug rehabilitation and have urine tests.

Quant's matters will be rementioned at court in August.

Police charges include possession and supply of dangerous drugs.

 

UPDATE:

A 25-year-old Boyne Island woman has been charged with a number of drug offences following a traffic stop in Turkey Beach this morning.

Police will allege they stopped the woman's vehicle on a traffic related matter on Turkey Beach Road at around 7:30am.

A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located a quantity of methamphetamine and drug related utensils.

A woman has been charged with one count each of supplying dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence, possession of property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence and possession of utensils.

She is due to appear in the Gladstone Magistrates Court tomorrow, June 23.

Calliope Road Traffic Policing Unit seized 60g of ice believed to be worth up to $60,000 this morning on Turkey Beach Rd.

Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch Officer in charge Detective Senior Sergeant Luke Peachey said it was the biggest quantity of ice he had seen seized in Gladstone.

The 24-year-old Turkey Beach woman was speeding on Turkey Beach Rd when she was pulled over.

She is currently in custody and could face trafficking charges.
