Woman, 18, charged with grievous bodily harm

MOUNT Isa detectives investigating a disturbance at Yallambie, Townview last night have charged an 18-year-old local woman with grievous bodily harm.

It will be alleged that two 18-year-old women became involved in a physical altercation at a Yallambie residence during which time one of the women received stabs wounds to her shoulder and back.

A 26-year-old woman who tried to intervene sustained a laceration to her hand.

The injured teen was transported to Mount Isa Base Hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.

The second 18-year-old fled the scene and was located following extensive patrols by police in Pamela Street, Mount Isa.

She is due to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 19.

All three were known to each other.
