BUNDABERG woman Shelly Nagas has proved a mother's love really knows no bounds.

Ms Nagas was unable to travel to attend the wedding of daughter Kim-Maree Roberts Nagas in the US at the weekend, but that didn't stop her and other friends and family members from taking part in the day.

The loving mum refused to let distance keep her from her daughter's big day yesterday and instead organised to have the whole ceremony streamed live from Portland, Oregon, right to Western Suburbs Leagues Club.

Ms Nagas said the arrangement allowed family and friends to take part in the festivities even if they couldn't be there in person.

"It just goes to show, with a mother's love and inspiration, nothing can separate a mother from her daughter," Ms Nagas said.

"This sort of technology is wonderful.

"It can restore and bring families together."

Ms Nagas said there was plenty of organising to do to get the event up and running.

"They were getting married on Saturday at 7pm at the City Bible Church in Portland, Oregon, so we held our ceremony (yesterday) at 11.30am to match up the time difference," she said.

"I'll always remember this is how I got to my daughter's wedding."

Ms Nagas said she even arranged for friends and family who could not attend the Bundaberg or Portland ceremonies to get involved.

"Friends and family are watching from the Blue Mountains, Sydney, New Zealand and Europe - all over, really," she said.

"It's a nice way for us all still to be together and celebrate."
