Wear purple today in honour of Jayde Kendall
THE Lockyer Valley is going purple in honour of murdered schoolgirl Jayde Kendall.
Residents across the district are being urged to wear purple clothes today.
Students attending Lockyer District High School have been told they are allowed wear purple to school today, as a mark of respect.
Floral tributes have been left outside the school.
The Help Find Jayde Facebook page posted that Jayde had impacted on the lives of all those who knew her because of her generous nature and kind soul.
"In light of this, today, Friday August 28, the community is encouraged to wear purple (Jayde's favourite colour) in memory of Jayde.
"If you don't have any purple attire to wear, simply wear something special - maybe a new piece of jewellery, new tie, new perfume or outfit #WearPurpleForJayde."
There has been an outpouring of grief since her death was confirmed yesterday.
Janet Folker wrote: "So sad, RIP innocent girl. Deepest sympathy for family and friends. This bought a tear to eyes and lead feeling in my chest and I never knew Jayde."
Debbie Glass wrote: "Thinking of the family, so so sad RIP Jayde you shall be in God's safe hands now."
Dorothy Malone wrote: "RIP Jayde, you didn't deserve this. Condolences to your family who have already suffered terrible loss."
