Watson's winning form helps Aussies in warm-up match

OPENER Shane Watson sent England an ominous warning ahead of Saturday's Champions Trophy showdown at Edgbaston.

Watson blasted 135 off only 98 balls, including 15 fours and four sixes, as Australia beat the West Indies by four-wickets, in its first warm-up match.

Captained by George Bailey, Australia was set 257 after Darren Bravo's 86 helped the Windies post 9-256 in their 50 overs in Cardiff. Mitch Marsh chipped in with 39 not out off 19 balls.

The Aussies, in the same pool as England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, play India, who beat Sri Lanka by five wickets yesterday, in their second warm-up game tomorrow.
