THE intersection fronting Toowoomba's new Bunnings Warehouse was upgraded to coincide with the store's opening but the new lanes are already causing confusion.

The corner of Bridge and Ruthven Sts has been under construction for the past few months and now Bridge St has two turning lanes when turning right onto Ruthven St. Both turning lanes are clearly marked.

But it appears some people aren't aware of the changes.

Dash cam footage shared on Dash Cam Owners Australia shows the moment two vehicles almost collide when one driver doesn't realise the changes to the intersection.

The footage shared by Donna Brazier shows her turning right onto Ruthven St from Bridge St.

The footage shared by Donna Brazier shows her turning right onto Ruthven St from Bridge St, while travelling in the outside turning lane. When she begins driving along Ruthven St a car swerves into her lane, not realising two cars can now turn at once.

She can be heard breathing heavily after the incident, clearly shaken by the near-miss. She admits in the comments that it triggered "a slight panic attack."

Many people commented saying they were glad Ms Brazier was okay and her car wasn't damaged.

One Toowoomba resident also admitted she had only just noticed the two new turning lanes.

Vanessa Morse said: "I must admit I only noticed this morning that they turned that middle lane into a right turning (lane) as well and I go that way every day. Glad you are in one piece."
