A SPOKESWOMAN from the Princess Alexandra Hospital said the man was in intensive care at the hospital, following the crash.

He is currently in a critical but stable condition.

A SOUTH Burnett man has been critically injured in a head-on collision on the D'Aguilar Highway east of Blackbutt yesterday.

It is believed that the car the man was travelling in was struck at speed when it turned into the path of another vehicle while leaving the highway.

The man, in his mid-20s, was entrapped in his vehicle, and was freed by emergency services personnel once they arrived on the scene.

A SPOKESWOMAN from Queensland Ambulance Service said two patients had been transported in stable conditions to Kingaroy Hospital.

A man with significant head injuries has been freed from the vehicle and will be airlifted.

A MAN is currently trapped in a vehicle at Blackbutt, following a two vehicle collision on the D'Aguilar Hwy just before 4pm.

A spokesman from Queensland Police Service said one man was currently trapped in a vehicle.

"He's got pretty serious injuries, but I don't know more than that," the spokesman said.

"He will be airlifted as soon as possible by a helicopter, but it's too early to tell who else is involved in the crash or the seriousness of it."

The D'Aguilar Hwy is down to one lane, but cars can currently travel through.

A spokesperson from Queensland Ambulance Service said they were waiting for information concerning how many individuals were involved and the seriousness of the crash.

Emergency services advise caution.

More to come.
