UPDATE 1.15PM: Police have closed one lane of James St at the intersection of Mackenzie St as firefighters contain a fire in a prime mover this afternoon.

The westbound lanes at the intersection have been reduced from two to one as crews secure the area.

No one is believed injured in the incident.

Authorities remain at the scene.

1PM: Emergency services are responding to reports a truck has caught fire at a busy Toowoomba intersection.

Initial reports suggest the truck carting shipping containers has caught fire at the corner of James and McKenzie St in East Toowoomba.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are responding to the incident which was reported at 1pm.
