UPDATE: Gladstone locals chip in thousands to family of crash victim

UPDATE: 3.45pm, Friday: 

THOUSANDS of dollars and heartfelt tributes continue to flood in for the man who was killed in a collision on Hanson Rd last Friday.

Seventy-one people have chipped in $4670 on the GoFundMe web page to help the family of Justin Boyce, who died at the scene of the accident.

Some have dug particularly deep, with one person having donated $500, while others have chipped in $200.

"Our heartfelt sympathy to you all at this really sad time," one user wrote.

"RIP lad. No one ever wants this to happen to such a young family. Well wishes to your loved ones," another user wrote.

"Our deepest thoughts and sympathy to your family on your loss," Giovenco Industries operations director David Isaacs wrote. "Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time."

Hannah Dobbin, a friend of Mr Boyce and his family, set up the crowd-funding page to "help support a young wife and mother who lost her husband in a tragic car accident on the way home".

Mr Boyce left behind a 17-month-old "bubbly boy" while his widow is expecting another baby, according to the post.

Ms Dobbin said the money would be donated to help the family through the difficult time and pay for funeral costs.

UPDATE 5PM

WITHIN hours residents of Gladstone have managed to raise another $700 towards the family of Justin Boyce, who died in a car crash on Friday.

A Go Fund Me page, which was set up by Hannah Dobbin, has raised $2725 towards a $7000 goal.

Ms Dobbin said the funds would go towards helping out the family and funeral costs.

"Justin leaves behind a loving wife, Anita (who was to celebrate her 21st in a month, and a 17-month-old bubbly boy," Ms Dobbin posted.

"This tragic news comes after the news of finding out they were going to be parents a second time around."

Single donations have been as high as $500, with messages of love and condolences to the family.

Krista and Raoul Richards donated $75 and commented:

"Don't know Justin or his family. However, a small donation can do wonders for a family in need. Sending my condolences to his family and friends."

Sallie Kearnan donated $50 and said she was thinking of Justin, his partner and his son.

"May you find strength and comfort to help you through this very sad and difficult time," she said.

One work colleague, Corey Jones, left a message on the page saying: "Work won't be the same without you."

Mr Jones left a $260 donation.

MORE than $2000 has been donated to the family grieving the loss of a 23-year-old husband and father.

As of 6.30pm last night, there was more than $800 on the Go Fund Me page set up to support the family of Justin Boyce.

But this morning, the generosity of Gladstone residents has boosted that number to $2300.

Mr Boyce was tragically killed in a car accident on Hanson Rd last Friday.

Some are leaving messages of condolensces and tributes with their donations, too.

"Our deepest sympathy to Wazza and family. Our thoughts are with you at this time," Julie & Keith Buckley wrote.

Ms Dobbin, a close friend of Mr Boyce's, created the page to raise "as much as possible" to help the family.

"I have made this page to help support a young wife and mother who lost her husband in the tragic car accident on the way home from work," the page reads.

"Justin leaves behind a loving wife and a 17 month old bubbly boy."

"This tragic news comes after the news of finding out they were going to be parents a second time around."

Ms Dobbin wrote the page was to help make the "tragic time" easier for the young family, including using some of the money for his funeral.

"Justin also leaves behind a devastated mother and father, a brother (who was ready to celebrate his birthday), sisters and many friends," Ms Dobbin said.

"I would like to help as much as possible to make this time so much easier in this tragic time."

Residents have been generous with their donations, with $2335 donated already.

"A small donation can do wonders for a family in need," Kirsta and Raoul Richards wrote.

Others wrote "RIP" and "too young".
