Ray Thompson back from cheek injury for Cowboys

THEY will again be without dynamic playmaker Johnathan Thurston but the Cowboys have had some good news with Ray Thompson set to return from a cheek injury against the Dragons at WIN Stadium on Saturday night.

Thompson was named at five-eighth and will partner Robert Lui in the halves.

With Matt Scott and James Tamou also on Origin duty, Ben Hannant and Sam Hoare have been named to start in the front row, with Scott Bolton to come on to the bench.

Yaw Kiti Glymin will make his first grade debut for the Dragons on the wing in place of Dylan Farrell.

The Dragons have their own Origin issues, with Blues representatives Josh Dugan and Trent Merrin replaced by Jason Nightingale and Nathan Green.

Hooker Mitch Rein also returns from suspension.

Meanwhile, Wests Tigers have named Dene Halatau at hooker for the injured Robbie Farah for Monday night's game against the Eels.
