ANTHONY West and Josephine Vander Gucht are new and upcoming British band Oh Wonder.
Anthony has a strong connection with Australia, as the grandson of iconic Aussie writer Morris West.
Morris West AO (1916-1999) was a novelist and playwright, best known for his novels The Devil's Advocate, The Shoes of the Fisherman and The Clowns of God.
His books were published in 27 languages and sold more than 60 million copies worldwide.
The Shoes of the Fisherman (1963), described the election and career of a Slav as Pope, 15 years before the historic election of Karol Wojtyła as Pope John Paul II.
Josephine Vander Gucht said Anthony West casually mentioned his connection to the writer during a recent visit.
"I didn't even know who he was until we went out to Australia. We went to see the Opera House and Anthony said 'oh, this is my grandfather' and pointed to a plaque on the floor," she said.
"I was like 'What? It turns out he was an amazing author.
"Obviously creativity and artistry is in the family."
Vander Gucht said West's family connection with Australia had been kept private until now.
"No one knows. I don't even know (if) I'm supposed to tell anybody (laughs)."
West and Vander Gucht have been releasing one single a month for the last 12 months, as a new way of promoting their music.
Each one of those songs received critical acclaim and went viral as soon as they were released.
At the end of the 12-month project next month, they will release an album compiling all those songs.
They have been so busy creating new songs to release each month that they not have the chance to play live together.
Vander Gucht said the duo is preparing for its first ever live gig in London in September.
"We have been just so busy that we have not been able to play live until now," she said.
