Teen dies in crash on highway in North Queensland

A 19-YEAR-OLD Townsville man has died after the vehicle he was driving crash near Guthalungra.  

Preliminary information suggest about 5.20am the man was travelling on the Bruce Highway, about 25kms north of Guthalungra and 50kms north of Bowen, when the vehicle rolled several times before crashing through a paddock fence and coming to a stop.  

The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.  

The highway was closed for a period of time and has since re-opened.  

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
