MORETON Bay Regional Council mayor Allan Sutherland is facing the corruption watchdog this afternoon, with the Crime and Corruption Commission casting a spotlight over alliances and funding decelerations.

Mr Sutherland has told the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) that he is an independent mayor with no political affiliations.

"I have no political master, either Labor or Liberal," Mayor Sutherland said.

"I' don't have to answer (to a party) as it gives me more freedom as a mayor to talk to state or federal colleagues."

"I don't think people want to see party involvement in their local councils."
