Man who allegedly tried to kill woman stays behind bars


A MAN accused of attempted murder has not applied for bail.

James Darren Dower appeared in custody in Maroochydore Magistrates Court this morning charged with allegedly trying to kill a 41-year-old woman at a Warana home on Sunday night. 

An adjournment was sought on his behalf to organise Legal Aid funding.

He was remanded in custody for his matters to next be mentioned on October 12.


A SUNSHINE Coast man has been arrested at the scene of an alleged attempted murder on Nicklin way after a woman was allegedly stabbed in the mouth. 

Police were called to a home on at Warana about 7.20pm following reports that a woman had been stabbed.

On arrival, a 41-year-old woman was found with a large laceration to her mouth, and she was rushed to Nambour Hospital where she was being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

A man was taken into custody at the scene.

A 45-year-old Warana man has been charged with one count of attempted murder and is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
