Sun, sand, singing in South Pacific

PREPARE to be taken on a whirlwind trip to the tropical paradise that is South Pacific with the Ipswich Orpheus Chorale.

The Chorale chose the Rogers and Hammerstein classic as this year is the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

Featuring well-known songs such as I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair and Some Enchanted Evening, it promises to be a treat for the ears.

There will be something for everyone; drama, romance, comedy, suspense, all combining to make a very enjoyable musical.

Ipswich Orpheus Chorale musical director Tom Keenan said the hard work performers had put in over three months of rehearsals had paid off, and that he knew the audience would love it.

"There'll be great singing and acting, wonderful sets, a fantastic orchestra, it'll be a great night," he said.

"The vocals are a highlight. You'll definitely notice the strength of our singers."

The performances run from October 9-11, with matinees on October 10 and 11.

Tickets are $35 for adults, $28 for concession card holders and $15 for children under 12.

For bookings, contact the Ipswich Civic Centre on 3810 6100 or visit .ipswichciviccentre.com.au.
