Strum in to learn ukulele

IT MIGHT be winter but the Royal Mail Hotel is heating up by spreading the summer vibes with some new ukulele workshops.

Vic Kena, from the Australian Ukulele Show, will host the workshops at the hotel and says the ukulele is a perfect instrument for beginners.

"It's a really easy instrument to learn to play," he said.

"Everyone will be able to play a song after one session. The ukulele is also great for more skilled players because there's a lot of intricate stuff to learn as well.

"There'll be something for everyone."

Workshops will be held from 11am-12.30pm on July 5 and 19, August 9 and 16 and September 6 and 13 at the Royal Mail Hotel in Goodna.

The group classes cost $10 each and are best suited to players aged 12 and above.

Workshop participants are encouraged to bring their own ukulele and display book for lesson sheets.

Registration for these special workshops is necessary.

Phone 3288 2213 to reserve your place.
