TOTTENHAM have announced that under-23 coach Ugo Ehiogu has died after collapsing at training.
The 44-year-old, who played for Aston Villa and Middlesbrough and was capped by England on four occasions, received medical attention at Tottenham's Enfield training base before he was transferred to hospital in an ambulance.
"It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Ugo Ehiogu, our under-23 coach," the club announced in a statement.
Ehiogu, who has been at Tottenham since 2014, played over 200 times for Aston Villa, before moving to Middlesbrough in 2000.
He won the League Cup in 1996 with Villa and 2004 with Borough.
The centre-back also played for West Brom, Leeds, Rangers and Sheffield United.
Spurs' head of coaching and player development John McDermott said: "Words cannot express the shock and sadness that we all feel at the club.
"Ugo's immense presence will be irreplaceable. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife Gemma and his family."
