Car-to-car gunshots at Kiels Mountain

DETECTIVES have charged two men following an incident in which a firearm was discharged from a vehicle in Kiels Mountain overnight.

Around 7.55pm police will be alleging that the men discharged a firearm into another vehicle as they were both travelling on Kiel Mountain Road.

The vehicle was damaged but no one was injured during the incident.

Police located the vehicle and occupants a short time later.

A 42-year-old Mount Coolum man was charged with one count each of threatening violence, discharge weapon in a public place and unlawful possession of weapons.

A 20-year-old Buderim man was charged with one count each of threatening violence, discharge weapon in a public place and unlawful possession of weapons.

They are due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrate Court this morning.
