Sharks too strong for Roosters

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Cronulla Sharks have extended their winning streak to 14 games – and with it their lead on the NRL ladder – with a 32-20 win over the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The Roosters made the visitors work hard for the win, with a Daniel Tupou try and Sio Siua Taukeiaho conversion in the 72nd minute reducing Cronulla’s lead to six points to set up a grandstand finish, after the Sharks had led 26-10 midway through the second half.

But a length-of-the-field runaway try to Sosaia Feki – his second of the night – in the final seconds sealed the win for the Sharks, who scored six tries to the Roosters’ four.
