Servo attendant chases machete-wielding bandit out of store

A SERVICE station attendant has thrown a container at a machete-wielding man and chased him out of the store he was attempting to rob.

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery that occurred in Elimbah last night

About 7.50pm, a man armed with a machete entered a service station on Beerburrum Road, approached the store attendant and made demands for money.

The attendant threw a container at the man and chased him out of the store. He was last seen running south along a walking track.

Nothing was taken from the store and no-one was physically injured.

Investigations are ongoing.

Anyone who may have information in relation to this incident or who saw a man dressed in dark clothing in the area last night is urged to contact police.
