UPDATE, 8.50am Sunday: A MALE patient who was winched off Mt Beerwah late yesterday elected not to be transported to hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said this morning that the man in his mid-30s had been assessed by paramedics about 4.20pm yesterday and had suffered a very minor ankle injury.

The man was able to go home with a friend

UPDATE, Saturday: A helicopter is currently being arranged to transport a stranded man from Mt Beerwah. 

Emergency services were called to the scene after the man in his mid-30s became unable to continue his climb. 

It is believed he sustained an ankle injury two-thirds of the way up the 556m mountain. 

EARLIER: STATE emergency service personnel have responded to a rescue call on Mt Beerwah this afternoon.

About 2.30pm, emergency services received reports of a person on Mt Beerwah with an injured ankle.

A number of emergency personnel and vehicles have responded and are currently at the scene.
