One man dead after crash on Bruce Hwy at The Caves

UPDATE 4:15 PM : POLICE are investigated whether a medical condition contributed to a crash which killed a man on the Bruce Highway at the Caves near Rockhampton.

Police are currently at the scene of the crash. 

A 48-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. No one else was injured.

UPDATE 2.45PM: THE SINGLE male occupant of a vehicle which crashed on the Bruce Hwy at The Caves has been pronounced dead at the scene. 

A police spokesperson confirmed the Bruce Highway is closed near The Caves due to the on-going incident. 

The spokesperson said a single vehicle with one male occupant was involved in the crash. 

Motorists are again advised to avoid the area if possible.

UPDATE 2.15PM: Police are preparing to put road blocks in place at the scene of the accident. 

Initial reports suggest northbound lanes are affected. 

Motorists are again advised to avoid the area if possible. 

BREAKING: EMERGENCY services are rushing to the scene of a single vehicle accident on the Bruce Highway at The Caves. 

Initial reports suggest the vehicle has left the road near the turn off to The Caves and the driver is in a serious condition. 

Motorists are advised to take care if travelling through the area or to avoid the area if possible.
