HAVE fun with the kids in the kitchen these school holidays making these chewy, delicious granola bars. We use ingredients that you will no doubt find already in your pantry. And you know exactly what's in them, which is a bonus.
INGREDIENTS: 4 cups of oats 1 cups of caster sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tsp ground cinnamon 6 cups of dried fruit - cranberries, dates, sultanas 2/3 cup of peanut butter 1 cup coconut 2 tsp vanilla paste 240g melted butter 1 cup of honey 2 tbs of water.
METHOD: Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Oil and line tray with baking paper.
Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl. Meanwhile, combine water, vanilla, butter, peanut butter and honey in a saucepan and over high to medium heat, melt all ingredients.
Add the wet to the dry, then pour mixture into tray and press firmly.
Bake bars for 30-35 minutes until browned edges. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
