Prisoners spend night on roof in jail protest

TWO prisoners at the Woodford Correctional Centre have spent nearly 24 hours holding a rooftop protest inside the prison.

The pair climbed on top of the building on Tuesday morning and have since demanded to speak with A Current Affair host Tracy Grimshaw, 9News has reported.

The are understood to have got through a fence and climbed on the roof about 9am Tuesday.

The men said they wanted more help for people on drugs in prison.
