RAIDS west of the Coast have yielded marijuana growing in a caravan as well as a kilogram package of the drug.

Officers from the Sunshine Coast District Tactical Crime Squad searched properties on Moy Pocket Rd at Moy Pocket as well as Mary Valley Rd at Brooloo this morning.

Team coordinator Sergeant Wade Lee said a 43-year-old man was charged with possessing a dangerous drug after a kilogram of marijuana was found at the Moy Pocket rural property.

A 48-year-old Brooloo man has been charged with producing a dangerous drug after 18 marijuana plants varying in size from seedlings to 1.5m were allegedly found growing under lights in a caravan at his property.

"The raids were part of an ongoing investigation into gang-related activity," Sgt Lee said.

However, he said the two charged men did not have direct links to criminal motorcycle gangs.

Sergeant Lee urged any member of the public with drug information to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
