Police probe NRL player agent connection to Kingaroy death
A SYDNEY-BASED NRL player agent is among a list of people police are speaking with over the death of Kingaroy man Shaun Miles.
Mr Miles, 43, was found by passers-by in Fisher St about 7am Saturday after a night out at the licensed Club Hotel.
Inquiries are focusing on reports Mr Miles - described by family as a good man and father - was involved in an altercation at the pub with other patrons.
Gympie police district Operations Inspector Duane Frank said police had spoken with a number of people in relation to the discovery.
"What we've been able to establish is the deceased was with relatives and friends at a licensed venue which they had frequented," he said.
"We have established that an altercation occurred and with other persons at the hotel.
"After that incident, it has been established the deceased left the hotel on foot alone and it appears his intention may have been to walk home."
Mr Miles' body was discovered about 10 hours after leaving the hotel.
Several agents were in Kingaroy for a schoolboy rugby league carnival.
Anyone who saw Mr Miles or suspicious behaviour between the police station and the netball courts, is urged to contact police on 4160 4900 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
