BREAKING: Man charged with murder over shooting death

UPDATE 7.30PM: A man has been charged with murder following the death of a 38-year-old Warwick man this morning.

It is alleged a 30-year-old man attended the Glen Road residence at 11pm on Saturday night, where the two men became involved in an altercation.

The man is believed to have died as a result of being struck multiple times on the head with an object before sustaining a gun shot wound.

The 30-year-old man was found at a second address a short time later and was taken into custody after allegedly breaking into the residence.

He was since been charged with one count of murder and one count of burglary and commit indictable offence.

The man is due to appear in Warwick Magistrates Court tomorrow.

UPDATE 3PM: Homicide detectives, scenes of crime officers and scientific units remain at the crime scene of the Glen Road home.

Detective inspector Matt Howard said the deceased man was found in a motor vehicle when police arrived at 4.03am.

"At this stage it is to early to say what occurred until we get advice from our scientific team," Inspector Howard said.  

"They can guide us on the cause however."

It is believed the two men had an altercation on the property, which resulted in the second male leaving the address.

"Enquires are still being conducted into that at the moment," he said.

"We are currently taking statements about the incident.

"The man involved in the altercation is the owner of the home."

The Glen Road home remains an active crime scene.

UPDATE 12PM: A 38-year-old Warwick man was fatally wounded at a Glen Road home overnight.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, after police found the man with head and chest wounds.

Police located a second man a short time later at a second Warwick address who is assisting with enquires. 

The men are believed to be known to each other.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Glen Road around 4am and may have witnessed any activity to contact police.

The investigation remains ongoing.

EARLIER: DETECTIVES are investigating the suspicious death of a man this morning in Warwick.

Police were called at 4am regarding a man dead in the yard of a Glen Road home according to Queensland Police Media.

Details on the man's age and cause of death are currently not known, with police still investigating at the scene.
