MOTORWAY SHUTDOWN: Five-car smash causes peak hour chaos

BREAKING: The Sunshine Motorway is at a crawl after a five-vehicle smash in morning peak hour traffic. 

Police were called to the motorway at Buderim about 8.05am after the crash on the stretch passing Mooloolaba.

Northbound traffic is heavily affected, with cars banked back along the eastbound stretch, past the University of the Sunshine Coast.

The congestion should begin to ease, with debris and cars at the crash scene now moved off the motorway.

All occupants in the vehicles escaped the smash without injury.
