Woman’s stretchered from her 21st after wild brawl
THE host of a Sydney Harbour birthday cruise had to be taken off the boat on a stretcher after a fight broke out on-board.
Lana Marie Battaglia was celebrating her 21st on The Constellation when she was pushed down a flight of stairs by fighting partygoers.
Several others were injured and six people were charged over the incident.
Ms Battaglia was released from St Vincent's Hospital where she had been treated for hip injuries.
Family friend Rose Carambano said the incident was "terrible".
"When I heard last night I thought, she's never going to forget this birthday. It was just awful," she told The Daily Telegraph.
Police said a woman on board jumped from King Street Wharf into the water, which then triggered a fight on the boat. It had returned to the wharf to offload some drunken passengers.
Staff from Constellation Cruises told Channel 9 the company had zero tolerance for rowdy and drunken behaviour.
A spokeswoman told the Daily Mail two girls were unwell and had to get off the boat with their friends.
"One of them didn't want to get off and her partner was telling her she had to," she said.
"Because she was screaming she didn't want to get off ... it looked like she was chucking a tantrum. We were trying to leave and a big brawl happened and there were people everywhere."
Four women and two men have been charged over the incident.
A woman, 23, and two men, aged 24 and 26, been charged with affray over the incident.
A woman, 23, was charged with common assault, while a woman, 25, was charged with hindering police and another woman, 25, charged with assaulting police.
