PRESIDENT Barack Obama is set to rough it with Bear Grylls in an episode of NBC's Running Wild.   

The White House has confirmed Obama will meet with the survivalist during his visit to Alaska to discuss climate change.   

NBC said Grylls would give the president a crash course in survival techniques in the Alaskan wilderness.   

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told AP that not all suggested activities put forward by Grylls' team were approved by the Secret Service but they have come up with some "interesting things" for the president to do on the show.  

Other episodes of Running Wild, to air later this year, involve celebrrities such as Kate Winslet, Drew Brees, Kate Hudson and Channing Tatum.
