COMING two weeks early, new born bub Sienna Louise Le Dan wasn't waiting around for anybody.
Sienna's proud new parents, Melissa and Simon, hadn't even finished unpacking their belongings into their new house after moving to Gladstone from Hervey Bay one week ago.
But, and possibly in a sign of things to come, when first time mum Melissa headed to Gladstone Base Hospital to give birth on Tuesday, Sienna seemingly changed her mind.
After a marathon labour Sienna was born on Thursday and weighed in at a little over 2.7kg.
"I won't lie, giving birth is painful," Melissa said.
"But she's my little miracle baby."
Melissa, 39, was a little bit anxious about being an "older mum" but with some of her friends having children in their 40s, she felt she was in good company.
"Having had a few previous miscarriages it's been hard getting to this point," Melissa said.
"It's been a long time coming and it was all natural."
And after a day of "screaming, crying and sleeping" Melissa said Sienna was settling in to her new home quite well.
"She's just beautiful and has come out perfectly," Melissa said.
"She's very observant and has been looking around [at her new surroundings] and her hearing is great."
As for the name, well, Melissa said it had just popped into her head one day.
"I just love the name Sienna," she said.
"She's probably going to be my one and only little girl so she'll be very spoilt."
Melissa wanted to say a big thank you to all of the staff at Gladstone Hospital who helped her through her fairly long labour.
