A 30-YEAR-OLD mum has died after she was critically injured in a unit fire which also killed her three-year-old son south of Brisbane.

Crystal Cartledge had been in hospital since neighbours rescued her from her burning Beenleigh unit on Sunday night, the ABC reported.

The mother of five had burns to 90% of her body and was on life support in the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Queensland police confirmed on Tuesday afternoon that she had died.

Her three-year-old son, Baileigh, died at the scene on Sunday, while the boy's siblings, aged one and five, suffered minor injuries.

Police investigations into the blaze are continuing.
