POLICE have charged a man with a number of assault police charges following an incident in Morayfield yesterday afternoon.

Around 12.20pm yesterday afternoon police were called to a residence in Everet Court. It will be alleged that on arrival police officers were approached by a man who attempted to remove one officer's firearm. Police will then allege they attempted to restrain the man during which time the man has violently resisted and spat on both officers.

It will be further alleged that two other officers arrived to assist in arresting the man who continued to resist. A female officer police had her shoulder dislocated and a male officer had a finger dislocated during the altercation.

The man was eventually restrained and was later charged with two counts each of serious assault of police by spitting and serious assault police causing bodily harm.

A 39-year-old Morayfield man is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.

All four officers received treatment for their injuries.
