THE great white whale Migaloo passed Gladstone around 1pm on Saturday according to the Migaloo Whale Twitter page.

At 1pm they tweeted, "Migaloo is now off Gladstone en route to Cairns".

Lady Musgrave Experience owner Brett Lakey was hoping to spot Migaloo during today's tour, but he was not in luck.

He said at around 1pm the tour had reached a small lagoon.

"As we cruise our direct path to the islands, it's on the humpback highway.

"There's actually a whale out here now slapping its pectoral fin," he said.

"But no, today we have not seen Migaloo."

While they did not spot the celebrity whale, he said they did see plenty of humpbacks, including mums with their calves.

The last sighting of Migaloo was outside Bundaberg on Thursday.
