Busted pig hunters assault female property owner

TWO men pig hunting on a private property at Rockmount have been charged after the alleged assault of the property owner.

Forest Hill Stock and Rural Crime Investigation Squad detectives allege two men unlawfully entered the property east of Preston owned by a 59-year-old woman on July 6.

The two men were pig hunting on the property when the owner came across the men.

It is alleged one of the men, 34, assaulted the woman and stole her mobile phone.

He has been charged with assault with intent to steal, stealing and unlawfully entering farming land.

The second man has been charged with unlawful entry of farming land.

Both men will appear in the Gatton Magistrates Court on September 7.
