Melb Heart looking to sign Kewell for next A-League season

SOCCEROO Harry Kewell is reportedly on the verge of signing for A-League club Melbourne Heart.

Kewell has not played regularly since leaving Melbourne Victory to return to England to be closer to his family and his ill mother in-law.

But it appears he could soon be linking with former Socceroos teammate John Aloisi, who coaches the Heart.

Kewell failed to attract interest from English Premier League clubs last season and even arrived at Stoke City for a trial, but was turned away.

The 34-year-old joinedQatari club Al-Gharafa in April as an injury replacement on a short-term deal.

He played three games - the only times he has had a runout since his last appearance for the Victory in March last year.
