UPDATE: THREE second placings behind Nick Foster was the wash-up from another fine weekend of racing for Warwick driver Matt Campbell.

In round 6 of the Porsche Carrera Cup, Campbell was second behind Foster in all three races at the weekend at Sandown in Melbourne.

He was second in the last race, two places in front of well-known driver Steven Richards.

Aaron Seton, the son of V8 driver Glenn Seton, was in 10th place in the final race for the Porsche cars.

Both Foster and Campbell have moved up the standings, Foster has grabbed the lead from Richards and Campbell has improved one spot over the weekend to sixth.

Campbell has two more rounds of the series to go this year at Bathurst and what will almost be a  hometown drive, Gold Coast.

EARLIER: WARWICK driver Matt Campbell has finished second in the first two races at Sandown in the Porsche Carrera Cup.

Campbell started at the front of the grid with winner Nick Foster yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.

After surrendering the early lead, Campbell stuck with Foster for the rest of the race and had a bit of distance on the third placegetter.

Campbell started the weekend with second and third in practice and then qualified first.

He maintained his spot at the start of the grid with two seconds in racing on Saturday and will compete in the third race of the weekend today when he will again start at the front of the grid.

Despite his success on Saturday, Campbell remains in seventh place overall in the series. He now has two firsts, a fifth and two seconds in the past two rounds.

During the television commentary on Saturday, Campbell was referred to as the driver from Warwick who first impressed good judges driving his Datsun 1200 five years ago.

The commentator also referred to the impact his late grandfather Bill Campbell had on his career and motor racing in Warwick said "Matt was racing in his grandfather's honour"
