UPDATE 7.06AM: A QUEENSLAND Ambulance spokesperson confirmed crews transported a man from the scene of a stabbing in Stanwell overnight.

The spokesperson said the incident was called in at about 9.15pm and one man was taken to Rockhampton Base Hospital in a stable condition and with minor injuries.

BREAKING: ONE MAN was taken to hospital with stab wounds and head injuries from being hit with a microwave oven following a dispute in Stanwell overnight.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said crews responded to reports of a disturbance at a Stanwell residence at about 10pm and arrived on scene to find a man with a stab wound to his abdomen and head injuries.

The spokesperson alleged the incident occurred when two men, who are in a relationship, began arguing.

"The two men started arguing and one slashed at the other with a knife," the spokesperson alleged.

"As a result he cut his hand and the other man had stab wounds to his abdomen.

"The other man also received injuries after copping a microwave oven to the head."

The spokesperson said while no complaints were made to police from either of the men, police filed a report and one man was taken into custody.

"The man who was stabbed and hit with the microwave was taken to hospital," the spokesperson said.

"The man in custody will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today."
