Man headbutts police officer during arrest

A MAN wanted on a warrant has been arrested for headbutting a police officer.

The man had been issued the warrant after failing to appear while on bail.

Police spotted the man walking along Elizabeth St during patrols at midnight on Thursday.

As police attempted to take him into custody, it's alleged he headbutted a female officer.

He was charged with obstructing police and assault of an officer.

It is the second alleged assault on police on the Fraser Coast in the past week.

On Monday a female police officer was kicked to the face during a disturbance in Maryborough.
