Missing man, 21, found dead on the Sunshine Coast

THE search for a 21-year-old man missing since last Sunday has ended in tragedy. 

Police have confirmed that a man found dead in Little Mountain today was missing man Jay Best. 

Jay's family had been searching for him since he was last seen leaving a Peony Circuit residence last Sunday, July 3.

His mother Kerry earlier said she was "out of her mind" with worry. 

She took to Facebook to find her son last week, saying: "He is not in trouble, I just need to know he is ok".

POLICE have confirmed that a man found dead at Little Mountain this morning was a 21-year-old reported missing from the southern Sunshine Coast suburb. 

"There are no suspicious circumstances and police will prepare a report for the coroner," the police statement said.

"The media and public are thanked for their assistance."


A MAN was found dead at Little Mountain this morning.

Emergency services were called to Lakeshore Pl at about 10.30am, a Queensland Police spokeswoman confirmed.

The man's death is not being treated as suspicious. 

The Best family have requested their privacy be respected in this difficult time.
