A 75-YEAR-OLD man was found deceased on a boat after complaining of chest pain at the weekend.
Police received a call about 4am on Saturday from a boatie suffering chest pain before collapsing while on the phone, a RACQ CQ Rescue spokeswoman said.
She said the CQ Rescue crew were tasked to perform a search and rescue mission for the man near Macona Inlet at the southern end of Hook Island on Saturday.
A rescue boat took out a paramedic who said the man was deceased and police recovered the body.
The rescue chopper was dispatched about 7am and the man's vessel was located about 63 nautical miles (117km) from Mackay, the crew returned to base by 8.40am, the spokeswoman said.
