Man arrested for allegedly carrying a longbow in public

POLICE have charged a 35-year-old man with carry exposed weapon in a public place after an incident in Varsity Lakes last night.

It will be alleged that about 11.45pm the man was seen in the car park of a licensed premises on Christine Ave with a longbow.

The man did not enter the premises or make any threats or demands.

Police located the man in Lake Orr Drive shortly afterwards.

The Varsity Lakes man is to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on September 7.
