Man allegedly caught with knives and explosives

MAN allegedly found with knives and explosives by police in Airlie Beach.

Police arrested the man at Airlie Beach after allegedly locating knives and ammunition in the vehicle he was driving after a traffic intercept early yesterday morning.

Police alleged that just after midnight  the vehicle was intercepted on Shute Harbour Rd near Shingley Dr.

Whilst speaking with the driver police had cause to search the vehicle where it will be alleged they located two knives in the driver's side door compartment and three live rounds of ammunition in the vehicle cabin.

The driver was issued with a Notice to Appear at the Proserpine Magistrates Court on August 31 for unlawful possession of knife in a public place and possessing unauthorised and prohibited explosives.
