Man airlifted after truck collision, hour after hwy reopened

RACQ-CQ Rescue airlifted a 48-year-old man to Mackay Hospital with a head injury after a car he was in collided with a truck.

According to Queensland Ambulance Service, the collision occurred on the Bruce Highway about five kilometres south of Sarina at 9.20pm last night.

This accident occurred about an hour after a fatal accident scene at Marlborough, on the Bruce Highway, was cleared.

The truck driver did no sustain any injuries and was not treated or transported.

He is in a stable condition a hospital spokeswoman said.
