‘M’ means magic musical moments

THE Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir will present Mostly M at St Paul's Anglican Church on Sunday, June 2, at 2.30pm.

The massed choir and smaller ensembles will perform the magnificent music of composers whose names mostly begin with the letter "M" - including Monteverdi, Mascagni, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Morley, Milliken and more - in the majestic milieu of St Paul's Anglican Church, Ipswich.

The first part of the program will include motets by Moneverdi, madrigals by Thomas Morley, a rousing chorus from Felix Mendelssohn's Elijah, the uplifting Easter Hymn from Mascagni's Cavalleria Rusticana and a gospel piece by the choir's own Sandra Milliken.

The second half of the program will feature the exquisite and inspiring music of Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore K339.

Joining the choir for this performance will be soloists Elisabeth Wallis Gaedtke (soprano), Kaye Reichmann (contralto), Nick Kirkup (tenor) and Rowan Howard (bass).

Mostly M will be held at St Paul's Anglican Church on Sunday, June 2, at 2.30pm.

Tickets are adult $20, children $10, concession $15 and are available at http://www.cambrianchoir.org.au/ concerts.html or by phoning 3288 0125.
