Little girl rescued from locked cubicle at Red Rooster

IT will be a holiday to remember for one little girl after she had to be rescued from the toilet cubicle at Red Rooster.

A crew from Maryborough was called to the restaurant after a report a four-year-old had locked herself in the cubicle and wasn't able to get out.

She was at Red Rooster with her mum and dad when she became locked in the toilet just after 8pm on Wednesday.

Maryborough Fire Station Officer Andrian Massingham said the little girl locked the door and didn't have the strength to open it.

A crew attempted to gain entry through the lock but were unsuccessful.

Talking to the girl with her parents from a rear window, a fire fighter forced open the door to gain entry.

"She remained calm the whole time," Mr Massingham said.

"Mum and dad were very thankful," he said.

The little girl was upset when she finally got released but was happy to see her mother and father.

The family was staying at the hotel across the road.
