Lions without two top players ahead of Collingwood clash

THE Brisbane Lions have been hit with a double injury blow ahead of Friday night's match against Collingwood at the Gabba.

Ruckman Matthew Leuenberger has been ruled out after dislocating his thumb in the loss to Carlton on Saturday, while vice-captain Tom Rockliff will miss out with a quad injury.

Leuenberger is expected to miss at least four weeks, while Rockliff is likely to miss two.

The Lions are set to also be without captain Jonathan Brown.

Brown contested a striking charge laid by the Match Review Panel at last night's AFL Tribunal.

The skipper could have accepted a one-match ban for hitting Michael Jamison but now faces two weeks out.
