A BOOST in energy and a clear head are just some of the benefits Stephanie Cullen has seen since switching up her diet.
The Gracemere woman has worked on having a healthy lifestyle for the past three years and is ready to recommend the change to the region.
"You generally feel so much better than you ever thought you could," the mum said.
"I think we accept a lot of things as normal, whether that's feeling unwell or having a cough and cold."
Stephanie said she could feel a mental fog lifting when her diet became clean, and she hasn't been sick in years.
Now she's sharing her knowledge on a healthy lifestyle through her business, The Health Market, that opened its doors in Gracemere last week.
Stephanie said the support in the store's first week was overwhelming.
"It has been surprising to see how many people are willing to drive from Rockhampton to Gracemere to source healthy alternatives," Stephanie said.
"The response has been great."
Stephanie, who is studying to be a naturopath, has been in the business world since January when she kicked off the venture online.
"I would be at the local markets and people would always ask where my shop was; but it was only online," she said.
"Online isn't what people wanted, they wanted to come to a store and see the products."
Stephanie, who turned to healthy eating because of health concerns, said it can be a difficult process at first but worth the change in the end.
"It is hard work in the beginning, but then it becomes a way of life.
"The benefits far outweigh the effort you have to make in the beginning."
