Nick Kyrgios wins, but isn’t Lleyton Hewitt’s hair apparent

AUSSIE veteran Lleyton Hewitt may be giving Nick Kyrgios some advice on his game, but clearly not on his hairstyle.

With his new mentor watching on, the 20-year-old from Canberra beat Spaniard Fernando Verdasco 6-3 4-6 6-4 to earn a second-round Rogers Cup match-up against dual grand slam champion Stan Wawrinka in Montreal this morning.

"Lleyton is not my coach, but he's just helping Thanasi (Kokkinakis) and me, and answering our questions," Kyrgios (pictured) said, clarifying a question about Hewitt's role.

"He's one of the players I have the most respect for, and I really appreciate him taking time out from his career and his family to help me."

The pair then took to the court in the doubles, losing 7-5 6-4 in the first round to French pair Gael Monfils and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
